The absence of Lawyer Ousainou Darboe from the Brikama Magistrates’ Court for the continuation of the cross-examination of the prosecution witness has caused yet another delay to the progress of the trial of an ex-UDP Bakau candidate.
The trial of Mr. Famara Bojang resumed last Tuesday but could not proceed as his counsel, Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, wasn’t in. Bojang, the prosecution witness and the prosecutor were all present, though.
It would be recalled that Mr. Bojang was arrested by the state security agents few days to the legislative elections, detained and subsequently charged with conspiracy as well as being found in possession of falsified Gambian banknotes.
