Three High-Profile Cases to Resume Today

Tuesday, June 5, 2007

Three high-profile cases including that of two opposition bigwigs would today resume at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

Messrs. Nfamara Bojang and Lamin R. Darboe are today expected to reappear before magistrate Edrisa Mbai for the continuation of their trials on varying degrees of allegations, ranging from battery to possession of falsified Gambian banknotes.

Kemo Saho, who is currently remanded in custody at the State Central prison in Banjul on suspicion of violently assaulting an Imam of one of the mosques in Farato, is also expected back in court today.

Meanwhile, the three trials that are now in various stages, have suffered numerous setbacks thanks to the absence of defense counsels and the prosecution is fast-running out of patience.
