Accused Acquitted, Discharged

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

One Boto Sowe on Tuesday of last week walked out of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court a freeman when he was acquitted and discharged by magistrate Edrissa Mbai.

Boto was sometime this year arrested by the police on allegations of being found at a wrong place and at an ‘ungodly’ hour. However, since the mention of his case in court on 10 April 2007, the prosecution could not produce any witness in court to prove the ingredients of the matter beyond reasonable doubts.

Magistrate Mbai, therefore, struck out the case, acquitted and discharged Boto of the charges.
