The absence of the first prosecution witness from court was last week a stumbling block to the progress of the trial of one Momodou Sallah on suspicion of dealing in illegal drugs.
Momodou was early this month formally charged at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court following his arrest in Bwiam and allegedly in possession of 53k and 40g of marijuana.
Abdoulie Ceesay, representing the National Drug Enforcement Agency, informed the court that he could not proceed with the case because his witness has been taken ill and would consequently like the matter to be adjourned to enable the witness testify in the trial.
His application was granted and the case adjourned for continuation.
