The Foundation for Disabled People recently fabricated some wheelchairs and distributed them to needy disabled people at Brikama through the help of Jammeh Foundation for Peace.
Twenty wheel chairs were fabricated by the Foundation for Disabled People in Banjul.

The funding was realised from the Amsterdam-Dakar Rally through the participation of a couple, Nickel and Niel who drove from Holland to the Gambia in support of the foundation’s activities.
According to Opesan Kehinde Gabriel, Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, the project took five months to complete. “We successfully fabricated twenty wheel chairs, meant for the disabled of Brikama due to the terrain of the area.”

Sulayman Badjie, the Director of the Jammeh Foundation for Peace, said the Foundation has contributed to all sectors like education, health and other social services.
According to him, they are trying to live up to their motto which is “caring and sharing”.

He thanked President Jammeh for setting up the foundation and stressed that everybody should contribute to national development. “Take the example of the Opesan Gabriel Kehinde, the Director of the Foundation for Disabled People. He has shown a good example and has contributed his quota to the social welfare development of the country,” he said.
