It is a pleasure to talk about people’s successes especially highly successful personalities like Lamin King who is one of the best in his area.
He was born 39 years ago in the western region city of Brikama. He went to Busura Primary School from 1978 to 1984.
By 1988 he graduated from Brikama Secondary Technical School and went into petty trading. Two years later he joined The Gambia Police Force and was posted to the state Guard. In 1994 he switched to the army and served as RSM clerk at the Fajara Barracks.
He did not lose his love for the police force and two years later switched back to police force. Today he is an inspector of the police and head of the license department in his native region.
In 1996, he won the AFPRC sponsored inter Kabiloo trophy with Santo Su F C in Brikama. He opted for administration and by 1997 was elected member of Brikama youth and sports Committee and became chairperson in 2000.
He built pavilions at the Brikama box Bar Mini Stadium, constructed a basketball court and volleyball. Western region delegates made no mistake when they elected him chairperson of the regions sports committee.
He has added to his success with two second division teams (Brikama United and Nema United). He is innovative, active and pragmatic.
