Murder Trial to Proceed in April

Thursday, March 13, 2008

The Brikama Magistrates’ Court is in April expected to press ahead with the criminal proceedings against a Malian national on allegation of murder.

Musa Traore, who had been languishing at the State Central Prison for almost a decade now, was on Tuesday brought to the Brikama Magistrates’ Court but subsequently returned to Mile II following the failure of his counsel to show up in court.

Musa had been charged with killing one Bakary Njie by pushing him into a sea. He was also charged with attempting to kill one Ansu Saidy and Lamin Jammeh, charges he denies.
