Alieu Bah, residing at Sanyang village, Kombo South recently filed a civil suit against one Balla Bojang before magistrate Ayoub John Njie of the Brikama magistrates court for recovery of D 2500 being the amount he (Mr Bah) paid to Bojang for the purchase of a piece of land at Sanyang village about seven years ago.

Justifying his claim before the court, Mr Bah narrated that six years ago, he went to Mr Bojang with the intention to buy a plot of land from him. He added that he had discussion with Mr Bojang and Bojang told him to pay 10,000 CFA which is equivalent to D2500.

Mr Bah further noted that  he made the payment of the said sum to Mr Bojang, but has since followed Mr Bojang for the transfer of the ownership of the land to his name to no avail.

However Mr Bojang, the defendant denied all the allegations noting that he does not know the complainant. He said that the person he knows is the complainant’s uncle Momodou Bah whom he once offered his land to.

Mr Bojang further denied selling land to the complainant noting that it was the same Momodou Bah the complainant’s uncle who went to plead to him for him to offer the complainant a land. “ I offered him the land eight years ago in the same way I offered it to his uncle” Bojang told the court.

He further narrated that he offered the land to the complainant on an agreement that he will develop  the land in three years or else he will revoke the offer which the complainant consent to. He told the court that since that agreement was made the complainant did not make any effort to develop  the land, which prompted him, (Mr Bojang ) to revoke his offer. At that juncture, Magistrate Njie adjourned the case for continuation
