Deportation order for Guinean youngster

Monday, September 8, 2008
Magistrate Ayoub John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates Court, last week, gave a six months suspended sentence to one Isiaka Jallow, an 18-year old Guinean national.

He was found guilty of stealing D1,000 from one Amadou Wurry Jallow in Brikama on August 4. Magistrate Njie also ordered the convict’s immediate deportation to his native country, Guinea.

In his mitigation plea after he was found guilt by the court, the convict begged the court to temper justice with mercy, vowing that he will not repeat the act.

The presiding magistrate told the convict that since he had pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against him, “you are therefore giving a six months suspended sentence”.
