Brufut academy launches website

Gilkock Football Academy, Brufut branch, last Saturday launched its website at a ceremony held at the Brufut Lower Basic School ground. 
The academy which is a community based initiative is geared towards supporting and developing young aspiring footballers within Brufut and beyond.
In his launching statement, Jammeh Bojang, Secretary-General of The Gambia Football Association, said academies play a very pivotal role in the development of football in any country.

He advised the teenagers of the academy to see football as a noble profession that can sustain one’s living. He said the opportunities available in recent days is magnanimous, thus urged them to strike while the iron is hot.

Speaking earlier, Burama Dibba, Administrative Secretary of Gilkock Football Academy said the academy was formed in 1996 by Sang Dong, erstwhile coach of the Scorpions in a bid to promote develop and improve grassroots football in the country.
Dibba advised the youngsters to be disciplined, tolerant and focused in whatever they do.
Dodou Bojang, a Sports Presenter at GRTS chaired the ceremony.
