Senior Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, has ordered one Momodou Ndow to undergo psychiatric examination, before taking his plea on charges of wilful and unlawful damages of property and assault.
Momodou is facing two count charges of smashing the rare wind screen of a vehicle belonging to the Gambia Police Force, with a registration number GPF 6FFI; and assaulting one Momodou Jallow with a stick, and thereby causing him actual bodily harm on 11 September 2007, at Willigara.
Momodou who appeared in a court full to capacity, made them to laught when he hid himself in the dock and later complained of being mentally ill.
Senior Magistrate Buba Jawo ruled that the accused should be sent for examination at Campama since he alleged to be mentally disturbed.
The case was then adjourned. Corporal 438 Njie stood in for the IGP.
