Tallinding Youth Convicted for Threatening Violence

Monday, July 16, 2007

Magistrate B.O. Jobe of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced a resident of Tallinding Kunjang on charges of threatening violence and criminal trespass.

Alhagie Boye was sentenced to pay a fine of D1000 following his own plea of ‘guilty’ to the charges of threatening to kill one Jatta Drammeh with an iron bar in November of last year as well as entering his home with intent to annoy, intimidate or insult him.

In handing down the verdict, magistrate Jobe posited that Boye had no right to intimidate, annoy or insult anyone and should therefore face the consequences of his action.

Meanwhile, failure in fine payments may mean Boye would go to jail for four months.

772 Samateh represented the IGP in the trial.
