The Bundungka Kunda boy, who acted on an information about a sale of a vehicle thereby committing a theft, will now go to jail for nine months if he fails in raising D7000 to pay the court fine imposed on him.
The nine month jail term and D7000 court fine were handed on Omar Badjie following his plea of guilty to a charge of stealing.
According to the prosecution, Omar was privileged with an information about the sale of a vehicle on the internet upon which, he went to a certain lady in Bundung to collect D144,000 on pretext that he was sent by one Modou Darboe.
However, Omar ran out of luck when the lady grew suspicious and reported the matter to Bundung police station.
“He was later arrested by the police in Bundung and a cautionary statement obtained from him,” the court was informed.
The case was chaired by magistrate B.O. Jobe and the IGP was represented by 453 Touray.
