The management of Armitage Senior Secondary School (ASSS) has thanked President Jammeh following his recent surprised benevolent assistance to the school. The school authorities expressed their appreciation to the Gambian leader in an interview with this reporter, last Monday.

Alhaji Ganyie Touray, the governor of Central River Region, who is also a board member of the school, lauded the President’s assistance, describing his gesture as a clear show of generosity to students and the school in general.

Ebrima Joof, the principal of the school, also thanked the president for the gesture, saying that only a leader who cares and loves his people sacrifices his life and property for the good of his people.

Mr Joof said Gambians are proud of their country and their leader, whom he said have built a new Gambia on a very solid foundation to become a superpower.

Principal Joof seized the opportunity to wish President Jammeh a bilated happy birthday and many more to celebrate.

The board chairman, Kaunding Tambedou, described President Jammeh as a dynamic leader with a vision of development. Mr Tambedou told the Daily Observer that Gambians have been experiencing rapid infrastructural and human development for the past years. He renewed their unflinching support and loyalty to the president “at all times.”

He noted that the donated rice, mini-buses and money donated to the school by President Jammeh will go a long way in ensuring quality education and greater efficiency in the school.
