Ecole Diana Mariama, a bi-lingual school situated behind the War Cemetery in Fajara, on Saturday, organised its annual school party, ahead of a line of festivities surrounding the Tobaski, Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The party was attended by the students and their parents, as well as other dignitaries. The school children thrilled the gathering with songs and citation of poems, amid a variety of food and drinks.

Mary Abdoulie Samba-Christensen, proprietress of the school, said the school has triumphed for the past four years, owing to the support of her husband, George Christensen, proprietor of Radio 1 FM and Ghanaian consular to The Gambia. She thanked the parents for their cooperation.

Mrs Samba-Christensen, who is also a legal practitioner, said her school comprises a day-care, a nursery and primary school, with a “well-trained” staff.
