Police Mount Investigations

At the time of going to press, the police in Central River Region were investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged life burial of a newly-born baby.

One Gibba Jallow, the suspect, was up to the time of writing the story, under custody at the remand wing of Janjanbureh Prison aiding the police in their investigation over her alleged role in the life burial of her newly-delivered baby.

Gibba Jallow, believed to be in her late 20s, was reported to have over the weekend given birth to a baby girl in Sareh Njaga in CRR but soon after buried the baby alive with the alleged connivance of her mother.

Gibba’s mother has also been taken into custody, pending the outcome of police investigations.
