Yusupha Manneh, chief executive officer of Janjanbureh Area Council (JAC) has said that his council is a low revenue earning council, but have put in plans to bring development to the Local Government Area (LGA).

CEO Manneh made this remarks in an interview with our Janjangbureh corespondent recently at his office in Janjanbureh. He said, there are plans to construct the Brikama-Ba market and to complete the incomplete projects within the local government area.

He further pointed out that Brikama-Ba has a large catchment area, adding that constructing the market will help boost the revenue base of the council.

CEO Manneh added that the construction of the market will cost them over four million dalasis but they will seek partnership with Gamworks.

Asked about how many students are on sponsorship from the council, Manneh said that, the council is sponsoring over seventy needy students and their intention is to increase the number.

He then promised that the Council will continue supporting the Divisional Sports Committee and the Youth Council in their activities as well as to contribute to “Tesito” works in various communities within the local government area.

“ All these plans can be realise only if people respond positively by paying rates and taxes on time” he said.

CEO Manneh also revealed the council’s partnership with the CDDP noting that this project is for rural communities in partnership with Local Government Areas (LGA), to plan, implement and maintain their priorities in social and economic investments.
