Principal Magistrate Moses Richards of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, recently convicted and sentenced one Soriba Kondi, a Guinean national to a four-year jail term with hard labour, without an option of a fine.

Soriba was found guilty on two charges of escaping from lawful custody and perverting the course of justice.

Both sentences are to run consecutively with hard labour at the Janjangbureh Prisons.

It could be recalled that Soriba Kondi is currently serving a 10-year jail term for armed robbery, by the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, following his conviction earlier this year.

ASP Momodou Bojang, Officer Commanding Police Prosecution, represented the IGP in the trial.
