Court issues ultimatum to defendant

Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, yesterday ordered Muhammed Hydara, a resident of Brikama, to pay D8,725 plus D225 to Alpha Omar Jallow of Kanifing, within two weeks. The sum was the money given to the defendant to secure a visa for Alpha Omar Jallow. However, the defendant failed to meet the demand. In his judgment, Senior Magistrate Mbacke told the court that the plaintiff was regular in court to pursue his claim, while Muhammed Hydara was always absent from the court, without advancing any reason.
