Alleged Police Officers kidnapping case deferred

The ongoing criminal case against Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy, both personnel of the Gambia Police Force was on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 adjourned to October 31, 2007, by Senior Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court.

Appearing before the court, Police Prosecutor Corporal 510 Touray, who held brief for Sergeant 772 Samateh informed the court that   Presecutor Sergeant Samateh, is currently bereaved and would therefore applied for an adjournment.

This application was then granted by Magistrate Jawo.  

It could be recalled that the duo were standing trial on three charges of conspiracy, kidnapping and robbery, with violent conduct.  

According to the particulars of offence, on March 1, 2007, at Kololi, Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy, connived and stole the sum of 3,000 Euros from one Mr John.

Count two revealed that on March 1, 2007, at Brufut in the Western Region, the two accused persons kidnapped or abducted one Mr John, at the Elephant Guest House, Brufut, from 1st to 2nd March 200,.

Count three also indicated that on 1st March, 2007, at Kololi in the Kanifing Municipality , Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy forcefully robbed one Mr John and Johanese of 3,000 Euros.
