Timber exporter ordered to pay D44,350

Principal Magistrate Moses Richards of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on Friday, orderd one Dawda Bojang, a timber exporter to China, to pay the sum of D44,530 within two weeks. Dawsa Bojang was taken to court, by seventeen youths, all of whom he employed to load timbers into containers for China, for the past three months without a pay. When the charge sheet was read to him, he accepted owing the youths. The presiding Magistrate then ordered him to pay the young men of the sum, plus an additionnal amount of D1,000.
