Having already left an indelible mark on the fashion topography of The Gambia, Classy Lady, a leading fashion and beauty supply outfit owned by a Gambian couple, Dr. Amadou Scattrel Janneh and Mrs. Fatou Janneh on Tuesday added yet another feather on their caps when they presented a handsome donation of D50, 000.00 to the Forum for African Women Educationalist The Gambia Chapter (FAWEGAM).

The money is meant for the construction of a FAWEGAM’s multi purpose centre located at Kanifing.
Presenting the cheque on behalf of the donors, Haddy Jatou Janneh, Marketing Manager of COMMIT Enterprise expressed their pleasure in contributing to the education of girls in the country. Madam Janneh described girls’ education as very important in the development of the country.

Reacting to the gesture, Madam Emily Sarr, FAWEGAM’s Technical Assistant applauded the donors for their ‘kind gesture’ and assured them that the money would be put to good use.
She said: "We have secured a plot of land from the Gambia government to build a multi purpose centre where girls can learn skills; it will also be used as a temporal shelter for needy girls."

Madam Sarr used the occasion to appeal to other organizations and business enterprises in the country to emulate the gesture of Mr. and Mrs. Janneh.
Yadicon Njie-Eribo, FAWEGAM’s Coordinator, thanked the Janneh family for answering to their call for supporting girls’ education in the country.

Mrs. Beatrice Prom, PRO of FAWEGAM chaired the occasion.
