A Yundum man was last Wednesday arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court for allegedly having an illegal carnal knowledge of a girl (name withheld).

Gibriel Camara mid this week denied responsibility for raping a teenager in Old Yundum on 4 May 2007. He is expected back in court May23, for his trial proper.

In another development, one Saloum Ceesay recently appeared at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court where he was charged with theft. Ceesay stands accused of stealing a motor vehicle valued at D75,000.

But according to him, he did not steal the car. He elucidated that the car was instead given to a certain Cherno Jallow who travelled with it to the southern Senegalese province of Cassamance and that Cherno had already given him D20,000.

The case continues.
