Alagie Jammeh, an ex-police officer, was brought before principal magistrate Richards of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on the 12th June, 2007, for allegedly robbing a guest at Wuli Motel on the 7th May 2007. Prosecutor 2036 Camara called one Muhammed Sisoho of Bakoteh as his first witness to testify against the accused.

In his testimony Mr. Sissoho told the court that on the 7th May 2007 between 9am and 10am, he had information that the accused had been attacking his guests at his motel in Bakoteh. He said he found the accused communicating with his fellow robbers.

He said he called his younger brother to assist and apprehend the accused. He said the accused started displaying rude manners. He said further that the accused told him that he was frustrated and this was why he was attacking his guests.

He told the court that he then called the police and the accused was arrested. He said at the time of his arrest the accused was wearing a pair of PIU trousers and that the accused was an ex-police officer. Alasana Sisoho, another witness, told the court that he was a business man and confirmed that he had seen the accused robbing guests at Wuli Motel. He said the accused was arrested and taken to the Serrekunda Police station. His evidence corroborated the testimony of the first witness.
