Domestic animals obstructing traffic

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

It has come to the notice of the Daily Observer that domestic animals like cows, sheep, donkeys, goats and pigs are seen roaming about the Kairaba Avenue.

This roaming of animals on our busy roads is obstructing the current flow of motor traffic in the metropolitan area of Greater Banjul. It is a fool hardiness to allow these animals to roam freely in the highly congested metropolitan area where thousand of vehicles plights daily.

As seen in the pictures captured by the Daily Observer cameraman, these pictures were taken at 2.00 p.m. yesterday near the Fajara War Cemetery along Kairaba Avenue.

It is obvious that the Department of State responsible for road safety and indeed KMC, which also has a Municipal Police Force should take immediate actions to stop this menace before a horrible accident occur.
