The General Manager of Gambega Limited, Mr. Eric Boulanger, on Friday bade farewell to the company at the end of 11 years of successful tour of duty in The Gambia.
Since his arrival in the country in 1996, the retired French Naval Captain has rendered singular services to Gambega Ltd. in pursuit of the multi-national company’s goals and vision. His uncompromising administrative acumen led to the dramatic transformation of Gambega within the last decade.
Mr. Boulanger is being transferred within group to Algeria and his successor is Mr. Gil Real.
In a brief speech at a sendoff party hosted in honour of the outgoing General Manager, the Marketing and Sales Manager of Gambega, Mr. Yusupha Bojang, described Eric as a man with passion for success and results. He pointed out that Eric was not only a leader but also a gentleman, a role model, a top-class administrator, a beacon of hope and a man of purpose who never show an iota of arrogance, adding that Mr. Boulanger had wisely engaged the machines, money and staff of Gambega in pursuit of the Coca-Cola bottling company’s goals.
Mr. Bojang went on to urge the staff of the company to work in tandem with the new GM so as to consolidate the gains so far achieved. He added: "I have no doubt that our new GM will take the company to even higher heights because he has successfully managed a plant in Liberia and other countries before coming to The Gambia."
The Human Resources Manager of Gambega, Mr. Saja Sambou, who chaired the occasion, described Mr. Boulanger as a top-class administrator who successfully managed Gambega thereby changing lives in a tremendous manner.
"It’s against this backdrop that we deem it fitting to host this send-off party to recognize his efforts," he added.
For his part, the ever-smiling Eric Boulanger thanked the speakers for the encomiums showered on him, adding that he has no regret in accepting to serve in The Gambia.
He promised to come back to the country in the future. "We will be always in touch," he told friends, well-wishers and former colleagues.
Other speakers on the occasion include the Manager of Stores, Mr. Mustapha D. Corr, Alieu Jallow of the Works Committee and John Bass of the Finance Department.
Meanwhile, Suresh Aswaney, the Finance Director of Gambega Ltd, made a presentation of souvenir on behalf of the company to Eric Boulanger. Friends and well-wishers also presented souvenirs to Mr. Boulanger as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to the man himself.
