Tijan Janha, who last Thursday escaped from lawful custody from the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court while waiting to be transported back to prison, ran out of luck as he was later apprehended by the police.

He was yesterday re-arraigned before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court who convicted and sentenced him to a month’s imprisonment for escaping from lawful custody.

Tijan, who was earlier arraigned for threatening to kill his mother, would, upon completion of the sentence, be brought back to the court to face the earlier charge.

Police prosecutor 2036 Camara represented the IGP in the trial.
