Fraud Cases Becoming Commonplace in Kanifing Court

The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court is no longer a stranger to cases that has to do with falsification of important documents such as bank statement and one of the latest in a series of such cases was brought against one Lamin Dibba and Jim Njie.

Jim and Lamin were on Monday remanded in State custody for their alleged involvement in a bank statement scam.

Jim, who was earlier formally charged before magistrate Moses Richards for issuing a counterfeited bank statement, was once again arraigned before magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh for similar offence. He’s alleged to issued a fake bank statement to Lamin Dibba to enable him acquire a British visa.

The two are now in custody pending further decision(s) in their case.
