Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday ordered Sedat Bangura and Mariama Tierera to pay D3,000 each or in default serve one year imprisonment.

The duo were arraigned at the court on charges of conspiracy to commit abortion, which they earlier denied.

It could be recalled that Dam Jeng, a staff of the RVTH, who carried out the abortion was last week convicted and sentenced to two years in jail by the same court, following his admission of guilt.

Presiding Magistrate Jammeh also told the court that this ruling will serve as a deterrence to others to desist from committing such act.
