Global Unification, an association set up to promote the welfare of women, youth and children will hold a one-day seminar to discuss the difficulties and crisis surrounding youths, women and children. The event will be held tomorrow at the KMC Hall.

Speaking to The Point, Mr Ebrima Dem, the National Representative of Global Unification in The Gambia said the forum aims at sensitizing the public about the importance of mainstreaming gender in decision making both at local, regional and international levels.

According to him, research and development association has the sole objective of advocating humanity in the third world countries but most especially in Africa.
He added that the association focuses on poverty alleviation, female empowerment, child protection as well as promoting the policy and programmes of the African union.

He further revealed that the association has about five main domains notably youth affairs, women’s welfare, child welfare, lobbying campaigns and advocacy domains, resources and training centres.

“We are taking this task because of our conviction that the population of women in Africa is rapidly growing, yet they remain among the most vulnerable groups to common difficulties and crisis thus making imperative for us to join hands in advocating their lives”, said Mr Dem.

The forum will, among other things, witness the convergence of high dignitaries to dilate on various topics, all dedicated towards creating a gender sensitive society not only in The Gambia but the world at large.
