Tabara Samba returned to Mile II

Tabara Samba, a Senegalese, who was last year convicted and sentenced to death by magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of Kanifing Magistrates Court for pouring hot oil on her late husband, Ebrima Nyang, was on Wednesday returned to the State Central Prison at Mile II.

The convict has appealed against the judgement of the magistrates court at the High Court in Banjul. However, the case could not proceed on due to the indisposition of the presiding judge, Justice MM Yamoa of the Criminal Division of the Hight Court. The judge was said to be attending a workshop on human trafficking at the Jerma Beach Hotel in Kololi. The case was earlier set for the adoption of brief.
