Detective testifies in affray trial

The ongoing affray trial involving two men, Ali Muhammed and Nasir, yesterday resumes at the Kanifing magistrate court presided over by magistrate B. Mahoney

The duo  on the 21st November 2008 at Pipline, were said to have fought at a public place, which contravene section 82 laws of The Gambia. In his evidence -in- chief the prosecution witness  Pa Modou Sarr, detective officer attached at Kotu police station told the court that on the day in question he received information from his station officer that Nasir was needed for  questioning at the police station as he was seen around Kairaba avenue. 

He added that when he went to apprehend him, he saw him with blood coming from his nose. He further told the court that he also saw Ali Muhammed with blood on his arm. According to him, Nasir was subsequently arrested and taken to the police station.
