In sibling attack case Prosecutor seeks to amend charge

The ongoing criminal trial involving one Lamin Darboe, on Thursday, resumed at the Kanifing Magistrates court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake.

Lamin Darboe is facing two charges of assault and being unlawfully armed, to which he pleaded guilty. The prosecutor, 319 Jobe made an application that he wished to amend the charge. He further applied for the case to be adjourned indefinitely.

The senior magistrate at that juncture granted the application, saying the defendant’s victim has still not been discharged from the RVTH and that the medical certificate will be very relevant to determine the extent of the injury. Lamin Darboe is accused of hitting his younger brother with a cutlass on his right hand and causes him serious injury, leading to his admission at RVTH.
