Man dragged to court over vandalism

One Modou Lamin Touray, on Thursday, appeared before Abdoulie Mbake, senior magistrate of the Kanifing Magistrates court.

He is charged with wilful damage of property. According to the  statement of offence, the accused, Modou Lamin, on the 25th March, 2009, around 10:30 am,  at West Field,  broke the glass of a commercial bus valued at D2,500. The vandalised  vehicle belongs to a public transport company, Unique Transport, while taking passengers to Banjul.

When the charge sheet was read to him, he pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of D2,500 with one Gambian surety. The case was adjourned for continuation till 8th April 2009.
