Modou Alieu Jallow, Chairperson of the National Patriotic Students Association (NAPSA) on Tuesday revealed to the anchorman of Young Observer that his association has secured a plot of farm land in Kanilai of approximately 10 hectare, for the general student body of the country.

According to Mr Jallow, this plot of land was given to them by Kora Faye, Kanilai Farm Manager, under directive of President Yahya Jammeh.

He added that, the reason for this is to enable NAPSA to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, noting that, no nation in Africa can achieve its goals without active engagement in agriculture.
“We have already cultivated maize on this farm and have also started weeding it. In fact, by next week, we are expecting over 200 students to go to Kanilai for the second weeding of the farm,” he said.

He revealed that, the main purpose of securing the farm, is for them to contribute to the President’s Empowerment of Girls’ Education Project (PEGEP), as part of their quota to national development.
He thanked President Jammeh, Omar Gibba - National Co-ordinator of NAPSA, Honourable Seedy Njie, Nominated Member of the National Assembly, Kora Faye, Kanilai Farm Manager and all those who in one way or the other contributed or supported NAPSA.
