The National Patriotic Student’s Association (NAPSA) will today, Monday September 10th, 2007 hold a fundraising programme with the famous Gambian artist, Jaliba Kuyateh and the Kumareh Band at the Jokor Westfield Night Club.

According to Jaliba Ansu Jobarteh, Assistant Public Relations Officer of NAPSA, the aim of the fundraising programme is to generate funds to support the President’s Empowerment of Girls Education Project (PEGEP).
He added that, the idea behind this initiative is to contribute their quota to the development of this program and also to contribute to national development.

“As students and citizens of this country, we think that we should also do our little to support the education sector. With the little funds we generate from this program, we will use it to support this noble institution”, he said.

He further confirmed that President Yahya Jammeh, the Gambian leader is expected to grace the occasion as Chief Guest of honour with Hon. Fatoumatta Jahumpa-Ceesay, Speaker of the National Assembly as the Chief Patron with the attendance of various Secretaries of State, National Assembly members and members of the diplomatic community.

He then called on all Gambians to attend the program at 9:00 saying “the tickets are only D50”.
