Mysterious deaths in Kerewan

Mariama Suware, a resident of Kerewan in North Bank Region (NBR), was last Wednesday found dead in Kerewan River under mysterious circumstances, barely 14 days after she gave birth to a baby boy.

Speaking to the Daily Observer, Masanneh Jarju, a husband of the deceased, said on the night of February 18, the deceased left the house for the toilet and never returned back. According to him, when the whole compound was searched she was nowhere to be seen. After a vigorous search in and around the village, her clothes and other belongings were found on the bank of the river.

He further added that after three days of vigorous investigation, her body was found in the river, about seven miles from where her belongings were found.

The late Mariama was laid to rest on the same day (Wednesday) at the bank of the river. In a similar development, another unidentified body was found in Kerewan River.
