GTS demonstrates new technology

The Gambia Tourism Support (GTS) group, yesterday held a demonstration on highly fuel efficient water heaters to be introduce in The Gambia, at its offices in Kololi.

The main aim and objective of the locally made kettle, is to help in the environmental cleanliness for its uses of waste materials to boil water.

Speaking at the occasion, Lamin Longley, inventor of the project said, the kettles have been made some two years ago and are designed in such a way that it can easily be made by local craft men using their existing tools.

“Both heaters have been purposely designed to work most efficiently when burning paper, cardboard, dry grass, which are currently littering the streets of The Gambia,” he said.

As the President is really concern about Operation Clean the Nation, its very useful for the rubbishes such as paper, cardboard, drygrass, to be utilised for such purposes,” he said.

The Manager of the GTS Bar and Restaurant, Kabirou Jabang, thanked his colleagues and urged the public to patronise what he term as a wonderful initiative.
