The president of The Gambia Red Cross Society, Mrs. Fatou Mass Jobe, has called on Red Cross volunteers and staff to join hands and work in the name of humanity. Mrs. Jobe made these encouraging remarks at the closing ceremony of a weeklong Sub-regional training session on food security assessment, held at the Seaview Garden Hotel in Kololi.
According to her, as volunteers they have big challenges to tackle such as climate change, unavailability of adequate resources and capacity to meet these challenges.
She encouraged the participants to work hard on the policies, formulated during the course of the week, to make Africa proud. She revealed that a turning point has been reached by both the federation and The Gambia Red Cross Society.
Mr Katim Nget, programme Officer GRCS chaired the ceremony.
