The Libyan embassy in The Gambia last Thursday commemorated the 38th anniversary of the Al-fatah revolution which was designed, planned and excuted under the leadership of Al-Aqeed Muammar Al-Gadarfi and his comrades at a ceremony held at the Kairaba Beach Hotel, Kololi.
In his keynote address, Dr Ali Mohammed Dukally, Libyan Ambassador to The Gambia said the September 1969 revolution transformed the Jamahiriya in all aspects, political, econimical, social and cultural.
According to him, the revolution which liberated mankind from the fetters of exploitation, misery and slavery has created an amazing difference with the pre-Alfatah Libyan revolution. He added that the revolution totally changed the face of the country and resulted in decades of industrialisation, infrastrutural and educational development.
“Since then, its motto has been the peoples’ revolution, an idea designed and continuously consolidated by the Leader Brother Muammar Al Gadhafi in his green book which draws an effective development theory for Third World countries in all political and socio-economic aspects,” he revealed.
He described President Muammar Al Gadhafi as a visionary leader who urged people all over the world to unite and sacrifice for development, citing his recent call for a United States of Africa as the only solution to the problems of the continent which will ultimately lead it to real emmancipation and development.
The Libyan Diplomat also said that the African continent is hugely endowed with natural and human resources which, if effectively exploited can easily transform the continent into a garden of prosperity.
He finally commended President Jammeh for being another visionary leader who has transformed The Gambia from misery and underdevelopment to peace and prosperity in all aspects of life.
