Ous Jallow’s father wins Canada ticket

Written by Nanama Keita

The father to the Gambia U-20’s Mr. Reliable, Ousman Jallow, is among the three lucky winners of Canada tickets. The winners were recently declared during the final draw of Vote Your Darling Player initiative held at the President Jammeh’s Joint Officers’ Mess in Kotu.

Ousman Jallow, who gallantly clinched the Darling Player of the fans award with 41,402 votes, picked three numbers to decide the winners, and coincidently, one of the numbers was his father’s.
“When I first picked the number, I never knew it was my father’s cell phone number. It was when I returned home that I realised that one of the numbers was his,” joyous Jallow said.

The Vote Your Darling Player initiative which allowed fans to send text messages to choose their star player was conceived by the Marketing Committee of the GFA under the chairmanship of Brigadier-General Lang Tombong Tamba, with the sole aim of raising funds to support the Gambian U-20 team to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.

During the weekly draws, numerous fans walked away with a variety of prizes before the three tickets were won in the grand final draw.
