Yet another tragic incident has occurred last Saturday when a 15-year-old girl, Jarra Colley of Brikama, drowned in Kubuneh, Kombo North District.

Jarra reportedly went to Kubuneh on Friday, 28th September, to visit family members but sadly met her untimely death the following day. The incident, which shocked residents, is still said to be shrouded in mystery.

The body of the deceased was then rushed to the Banjulinding Health Centre while a report of the tragedy was lodged with the Yundum Police Station.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to this reporter, at the time the late Jarra and her friends were plunging into the sea, he was performing prayers but before he could finish he heard shouts for help. He added that he could not be of help as he could not swim.

Meanwhile the deceased was laid to rest in her hometown in Brikama on Sunday, 30th September 2007.
