Mam Sait Jallow, the Chief Executive Officer of Kuntaur Area Council, has said that his council has been able to complete many development projects in its area of operation despite its meager revenue.

According to him, the council has provided public toilets at the lumo areas, waiting sheds, meat shelves, scholarships to poor and needy students and rehabilitated wells.

He decried that the non payment of rates and taxes results to huge arrears thus disabling the council in the form mobility.

He stated it is among their  plans are to improve the financial management system by institutionalizing some control, spot checking, improving daily revenue, record keeping, registration of businesses, team collections and staff rotation.

CEO Jallow then appealed to tax prayers to settle their rates and taxes to enable the council to implement the development projects as planned. “The council’s survival depends on rates and taxes. There cannot be any development if rates and taxes are not paid to the council” he concluded
