The training package is sponsored by the Gambia Football Coaches Association, in collaboration with the Lower Region Committee and will be instructed by the members of the coaches association. During the gathering, participants will be exposed on various skills in coaching, including planning of a training session, basic principles of games, role of a coach, principles of attacking and defending, goalkeeper training and team-building.

Speaking to Observer Sports, Modou Demba, Development Officer of the Gambia National Olympic Committee, who doubles as the Vice-Chairperson of the coaches association, said the training course is aimed at equipping the young aspiring coaches with the basic knowledge in football. He said “the training is a good move by the association”, noting that the package has for the first time been extended to Lower Region.
