Dutch couple Donates to Njawara Health Centre

In a philanthropic gesture as tourists on holiday in The Gambia Cees and Paula, a Dutch couple, donated drugs stationery worth over D20,000 to the Njawara Health Centre and also to the Lower Basic School of the village on Monday.

Speaking in an interview with The Point yesterday Cees said their contact with Njawara was facilitated through Dodou Njie, Chairman of the Njawara Youth Development Society.

Cees stated that the support for the village will continue or one year and that every four months they will lend their support to both the health centre and the school to the tune of D15,000.

For his part, Dodou Njie thanked the Dutch couple for their timely support of the community.

He called on Gambians to emulate their gesture noting that the aim of their society is to look towards the development of health and education in Njawara.

Speaking earlier, Ousman Secka, Deputy Secretary of the group also, on behalf of the people and the Alkalo of Njawara, commended the couple for their benevolent gesture. He added that the donation will live long in the history of the village.

Mr. Seeka said the donation will greatly help the community and its cluster villages and prayed the relationship between the couple and the village will go from strength to strength.
