Ndow’s comprehensive holds speech and prize giving ceremony

Ndow’s comprehensive Senior Secondary School (NCSSS) in Pipeline, last Friday, held its annual speech and prize giving ceremony at the school ground.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Florence Ampong, Acting Principal of NCSSS, described the school as a dynamic school willing to prepare students to an outstanding life of success with a believe that education is not a privilege but a right.

She outlined that, the overall performance  of the Grade12 students in the June 2007 examination as better  than the previous years. From this, she said 76% passes  with 43% credits ranging from A1 to C6.

In extra curricular activities, Ms Florence was proud to have different clubs in her school, from which she is optimistic that they can gear towards the development talents, such clubs the peer health and many others.

Mrs  Janet Badjan, guest speaker of the occasion, deliberated on the topic “don’t under-estimate anything” meaning there is much in little.

According to her, this implies success and she highlighted on the fact that children needs guidance and protection both from parents and teachers noting that discipline should be maintain by setting out the rules for their children.

Abaye Verdier, the head boy of the school delivered the vote of thanks.

The ceremony was characterised with drama presentation by peer health educators and prizes were awarded to deserving students.
