Thursday, November 15, 2007

As the Local Government Election approaches, the Chief of Sami District in CRR north, Morro Jawla, has called on the people of Sami to unite for the interest of development. Seyfo Jawla issued the clarion call in an interview with our correspondent last Sunday.

He pointed out that Sami has three wards namely; Banni, Karantaba and Sami Pochonki, adding that the three aspiring candidates for the seats in the forthcoming local government elections for the APRC party in Sami were Ebrima Ceesay of Pachonki ward, Mamadou Bojang of Karantaba ward and Musa Samura of Banni ward. He, therefore, called on the people of Sami not to allow them to be divided.

According to Seyfo Jawla, the people of Sami have regretted the outcome of the last parliamentary elections, caused by a handful of ‘miscreants’ in the constituency.

He enthused that indications were that the people of Sami are witnessing the strengthening of unity among themselves as ‘I do not receive any complaint for the past 14 months.’

Mr. Jawla finally advised his people to keep up the momentum and unite as one people.
