In American Embassy fuel theft case 6 pleaded not guilty

Six accused person: Kebba Bojang, Bakary Sowe, Omar Jagne, Edrissa Sanyang Lamin P Jammeh and Lamin Gibba, former Wackenhut Security, yesterday pleaded not guilty on charges of conspiracy to commit felony and stealing 700 litres of fuel at the American Embassy warehouse.

The accused persons were arraigned before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates Court.

According to the particulars of the offence, Kebba Bojang, and Bakary Sowe on 13 January 2007, allegedly stole 700 litres of fuel at the American Embassy warehouse, valuing D150, 000.

On Count Two, Omar Jagne, Edrissa Sanyang, Lamin P Jammeh and Lamin Gibba, on the same day, at the American Embassy conspired to commit a felony.

Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh granted the accused bail to a sum of D150, 000 each, with a Gambian surety.
