Two arch rivals Banjul and Bakau will once again meet in the final of the Gambia Football Association 2007 Africell sponsored Zonal competition this weekend.
Banjul made it to the final after eliminating Brikama, last year’s vice champions 2-1 on Sunday.
Alhagie Musa Camara, and Ousman Jagne, netted for Banjul in the 23rd and 45th minutes respectively while Brikama’s consolation came in the 87th minute through substitute Sainey Sambou.
Reacting to the victory, Ebou Cham Joof, alias Luekeh, head coach of Banjul zonal team, said this year they intend to bring back glory to the city. He further vowed his team’s rigorous preparations for the final.
It would be recalled that both teams drew goal-less when they met in the first stages of the competition.
The zonal tournament features 8 teams namely; Banjul, Bakau, Serrekunda East, Serrekunda West, Gunjur, Brikama, Lamin and Sukuta.
