Mr. Buramanding Kinteh, a four-time award winning Gambian author, is poised to launch five of his recently authored books on fiction and poetry centered on The Gambia and her people.
The books, to be launched later this month, are titled: The African, The Jealous Mother, Across the Desert, Teenage Delinquency, and Manding Musso. These thrilling books are in four different volumes that every individual must read.
In a recent interview with The Point, Mr Kinteh, who is also the Deputy Director of the Human Development Society, an NGO based in Serrekunda, said: “I have been working on these books since 1995 but the whole idea came to me in 1992 while I was a finalist in the USA Open Poetry contest. And it all became a reality recently when Gambega came in through the philanthropic assistance of Mr. Yusupha Bojang, whose role in printing these books is just wonderful.”
The author has called on young Gambian writers to put their dreams into reality by trying their best to publish their works.
He has also challenged publishing houses to support young writers, citing himself as a bright example of writers who have struggled to come up after travelling far and wide and have received honours on behalf of Gambia in the art of writing.
